This Is The Form Of Crown Sport For The Police In Japan

Toyota launched Crown Sport at the end of 2023. The car comes in the form of combining sports elements for young and elegant people typical of urban premium vehicles.

These luxury vehicles can not only be run for daily activities in urban areas, but are suitable as patrol operational cars for police in Japan.

Recently, a Crown Sport-based police car was officially launched. The model was given to the Japanese police agency from Toyota Motor Corporation.

Launching from Best Car, Friday, April 11, it is said that this is a rare patrol car and there is only one unit throughout Japan. The Crown Sport is seen wearing a white and black police cloak and a siren to accommodate its operations.

Toyota Motor Corporation executive Fellow Mitsuru Kawai said the presence of the police car version of Crown Sport was inspired by Mitsubishi GTO which was also used as an operational car by the police in Japan.

I saw a Mitsubishi GTO patrol car and wondered if Toyota could offer a rare car at Aichi, which led to this. I hope by giving children and other people the opportunity to see it at various events and so on, can inspire people who want to become police," Kawai said.

According to the report, the car used for the police is a Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) moving Crown Sport while strengthening Toyota's commitment to the local police in reducing the amount of carbon emissions.

Carrying PHEV technology, this model offers Electric Vehicle (EV) driving skills and gasoline engine performance, making it suitable for exploring the highway for daily use.

The crossover utilizes the A25A-FXS 2.5 liter Hybrid Parallel Series engine which is the same as other variants with a four-wheel drive system developed by the company, E-Four.

PHEV's Crown Sport has an advantage in terms of efficiency that combines lithium-ion battery resources that can reach 90 km in one charge. If the electrical energy and gasoline are fully charged, it will provide a combined distance of up to 1,200 km.

This car is a rare vehicle because Toyota will only produce 300 units per month in Tsutsumi, Japan. PHEV's Crown Sport is priced at 7.650 million yen or the equivalent of Rp. 895.3 million. With the addition of police equipment, the cost will increase to 10 million yen or around Rp. 1.169 billion.
