Honda CR-V Dream Pod Concept, Dream Car Suitable For Adventure

JAKARTA - Present for the first time since 1995, Honda CR-V has become the prima donna in various parts of the world, including in Europe, even being the fifth best-selling vehicle in the United States last year.

Quoting from the Carscoops page, Wednesday, April 9, celebrating the 30th birthday of the European Honda presents the new CR-V Dream Pod concept. This car is designed to celebrate adventures and take inspiration from a capsule hotel in Japan.

When viewed from the outside, the concept of this car comes with two colors that are not too flashy, but are equipped with several accessories including bars and a Thule bicycle carrier.

Interestingly, a bigger change occurred on the inside because the EGOE Nestboard 650 had been installed in the cargo area. This car can be opened to show double mattresses that can accommodate two adults. Interesting isn't it?

In addition to beds, Nestboard 650 has a drawer open to show a foldable stove and sink. There is also a storage compartment for equipment such as plates and tools.

Completing its flagship features are rubber floor mats, pull-out sidets, and 'tech pods' and the latter appear to combine LED readout lights with USB charging ports.

Astrophotographer Benjamin Barakat was one of the first to test Dream Pod, traveling to the Italian Alps to capture the night sky.

"Astrophotography is the process of going out, under the night sky and capturing it. It's a big difference compared to the day, where you can clearly see the subject. You have to be ready to adapt to getting an image, which is why Dream Pod is a huge advantage," he said.

Meanwhile, Nick Pearson of Honda Motor Europe said the spirit of adventure has always been the core of CR-V, a car that has been a pioneer of pleasure and versatility for families since it was first introduced in 1995.

"By combining car-like control and comfort with SUV utilization, this is a model that directly creates the modern crossover sector. Therefore, the Dramam Pod is a perfect celebration of CR-V's success as a pioneer and its status as one of the most popular SUVs in the world," he said, quoted from the motortradenews page.

The Dream Pod concept is based on CR-V e:PHEV, which features a 2.0 liter cylinder four engine, a 17.7 kWh battery, and an electric motor. This arrangement allows the model to have an electric range of 79 km.
