JAKARTA - Subaru Indonesia officially introduced the seventh generation of The All-New Subaru Outback at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026. In conjunction with the launch, the Japanese manufacturer also presented three limited production special editions aimed at Subaru fans and collectors in Indonesia.

Carrying the philosophy of #EveryRoadFeelsLikeHome, the latest Outback is designed as an SUV that is able to provide comfort, safety, and confidence in various travel conditions, from daily use to long-distance travel. Executive General Manager of Subaru Indonesia, Edward Kencono, said that the latest generation of Outback was developed to meet the needs of consumers who want a versatile vehicle.

"The All-New Subaru Outback is designed to meet the needs of users who want one vehicle for various needs, with a balance between comfort, performance, and a sense of security on every journey," said Edward as quoted from the official statement, Monday, August 3.

In terms of design, the seventh generation Outback comes with a more upright and sturdy SUV posture, providing wider visibility. The flat roofline also increases headroom and luggage capacity, while the new front fascia is combined with a larger grille and Subaru Steering Responsive Headlights (SRH) technology to help illuminate at night.

This model is available in five colors, namely Crystal White Pearl, Crystal Black Silica, Brilliant Bronze Metallic, River Rock Pearl, and Deep Emerald Pearl. Entering the cabin, Subaru increased the quality of comfort with sound-absorbing materials that are claimed to be able to reduce noise levels (NVH) by up to 10 percent.

The jok is wrapped in Luxury Nappa Leather material, equipped with ventilated seats and ergonomic medical seats to reduce fatigue during long journeys. The entertainment system is also updated through a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a 12.1-inch infotainment screen, and a Harman Kardon Premium Car Entertainment System with 13 speakers and a power amplifier.

For the performance sector, the Outback still relies on a combination of the Boxer engine, Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system, and Lineartronic CVT transmission that has been Subaru's hallmark for more than 70 years. There are two engine options, namely 2.5-liter naturally aspirated and 2.4-liter turbocharged, with a ground clearance of 220 mm to be able to cross various road conditions.

This SUV is also equipped with Subaru 4-Layer Safety technology based on the Subaru Global Platform (SGP), as well as the latest generation EyeSight system which includes features such as Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, Lane Departure Prevention, Emergency Stop Assist, and Emergency Pre-Collision Steering. Thanks to the safety package, the Outback received the 2026 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ award.

In addition to presenting the latest Outback, Subaru Indonesia also introduced three special editions produced in limited quantities, namely the Subaru Outback All Black Special Edition, the Subaru Crosstrek All Venture Special Edition, and the Subaru WRX Wagon STI Cherry Blossom Special Edition.

The three of them came with a different design character without losing Subaru's identity. Edward added that the presence of these special edition models is a form of appreciation for Subaru's loyal customers in the country.

"These three special editions are a manifestation of our appreciation for Subaru's loyal fans in Indonesia. Starting from the thorough blackout touch, the typical adventurer accent, to the exclusivity of Cherry Blossom nuances, each edition presents its own character without losing the essence of toughness and comfort that is Subaru's DNA," he explained.

The Subaru Outback All Black Special Edition comes with a black theme on 18-inch wheels, grille, roof rail, bumper garnish, mirror cover, emblem to fog lamp cover. This model still maintains the Boxer Engine, Symmetrical AWD, and EyeSight, and is marketed at a price of IDR 869.5 million on the Jakarta road.
