Italdesign Presents The Concept Of Captivating Electricity Pickup At CES 2025

JAKARTA - Italdesign's well-known auto design house brought Quintessenza an interesting electric pickup concept at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 exhibition which is currently taking place in Las Vegas, United States (US). Previously, this car was also exhibited at Pebble Beach Concourses d'Elegence last August.

Founded by Giorgetto Giugiaro in 1968, Italdesign was known as a pioneer of iconic automotive design. From Maserati Boomerang to BMW M1, their work has always amazed the world. The design house from Turin is also said to be building a headquarters in Detroit, USA and is ready to work with a large manufacturer or startup company for future projects.

Quintessenza, which was exhibited at CES this year, aims to continue the tradition and attract potential clients by presenting a combination of futuristic styles in the style of the Blade Runner film with a tough touch like Subaru BRAT. This concept car has succeeded in uniting the luxury of the Italian 2+2 GT style with the tough functionality of a pickup.

Powered by three electric motors that produce a combined power of 777 hp, this car relies on a battery with a large capacity of 150.0 kWh. Not only that, this car is equipped with an adaptive suspension that allows the height of the body to be set for off-road needs, making it an all-purpose vehicle with impressive performance.

Launching Car and Driver, Wednesday, January 8, this pickup is longer than Ford F-150, and looks striking with large tires of 24 inches in diameter and designs inspired by the GT-R 50 project as a result of Italdesign's collaboration with Nissan. However, don't expect this vehicle to be mass-produced. This concept car is designed as a show of technical and aesthetic capabilities, equipped with environmentally friendly materials, integrated electric motors in wheels, as well as a roof that can be opened to maximize flexibility.

No less unique, the back of the car is equipped with a cold minibar. The back seat can even be turned over to the open tub area when the hardtop roof opens, creating a new experience in enjoying a trip. The center console is also designed flexibly, it can be shifted towards the rear passenger for maximum comfort.

Quintessenza is also said to be capable of traveling from 0 to 100 km/h in less than three seconds. With ground clearance that can be arranged from 7.9 to 11 inches, this vehicle also offers solid offroad capabilities. The front winger will automatically drop at high speeds to maintain vehicle stability, giving the impression that it's not just about appearance, but also performance.

Italdesign calls Quintessenza an off-road version of Ferrari F80, although display with thick body bidding is more reminiscent of modern Subaru Crosstrek. The car also evokes nostalgia for Subaru XT Turbo and Subaru SVX, a vehicle that Italdesign had designed in the past.
