BMW M2's Latest Entry-Level Racing Car Undergoes Less Satisfactory Debut In Nurburgring

JAKARTA - Some time ago, BMW through M Motorsport division hinted at the appearance of an M2-based entry-level racing car wrapped in a cover sticker.

Launching from Motorsport-XL written by Carscoops, Tuesday, October 22, the sedan was piloted by two BMW M, Max Hesse and Jens Klingmann manufacturers. This car was included in the race under the umbrella of the FK Performance Motorsport team.

In terms of appearance, the car doesn't look different from the teaser version of BMW. This car is only added a sponsor sticker in several parts and racing numbers on both sides of the side door and windshield.

In the midst of extreme weather that characterizes Nurburgring, his debut was not brilliant. Fighting in the SP3T class, it was reported that this car failed to finish the race. It is reported that the BMW M2 is also slower than the Porsche Cayman and 7 TCR VW Golf which competed in the same category.

But for BMW M engineers, this event is useful for collecting data that is important for its future development.

In addition, the cabin display in this car also leaks into the timeline with a steering wheel made from Alcantara carbon fiber with stock cruise control and audio buttons. In addition, there are red buttons used to store chassis and powertrain settings.

The German brand has not disclosed its specifications, but it is estimated that the BMW M2 has a 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine with a magnitude of 473 dk combined with an automatic transmission of eight accelerations.

Thus, this allows it to run from 0 to 96 km/h in 3.9 seconds with the highest speed reaching 285 km/hour.

It is confirmed that this car is the successor to M235i Racing, M240i Racing, and M2 CS Racing, which have previously been included in a number of racing events around the world.
