JAKARTA - Last July PT Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) exhibited one of the hybrid lines sold on the outside market, Step WGN to the Indonesian public through the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS).

This car gets extraordinary interest from the public because it carries the MPV style with a wide cabin, is able to accommodate many people, and has hybrid technology.

Unfortunately, the company has not announced when Step WGN will be sold in Indonesia even though the public is interested in owning the car. Well, how will it continue from Step WGN afterwards?

Responding to this, Sales & Marketing and After Sales Director of PT HPM Yusak Billy, said the car was still in the survey stage and the final phase would be carried out when GIIAS Semarang which took place from 23-27 October before being determined.

"Maybe the last (survey) at GIIAS Semarang next week, then we will finish it and evaluate it because the interest is very high in Indonesia," Billy said when met at TB Simatupang, Jakarta, Saturday, October 19.

Billy also assessed that many customers asked about the launch time of Step WGN, although it is not certain that it will be sold in Indonesia.

"They asked when it was launched, but we've already said that we can't afford it yet," added Billy.

Based on the survey that has been carried out, Billy explained that many customers think that Step WGN deserves to be priced at IDR 500-699 million for the Indonesian market.

"Based on our survey so far, customers think this Step WGN is in the range of 500-699 million," explained Billy.

In Japan, this van-shaped car is a direct competitor to Toyota Vexy and Nissan Serena.

By design, Step WGN has a more brainy design than his brother such as Freed or Odyssey, but is more minimal with spoilers on front and on both sides.

The interior is equipped with a number of qualified equipment for family needs, such as an 11.4-inch floating infotainment screen, a 15-inch screen for passengers, a captain seat in the second row, and a foot support below.

This van is equipped with a 2.0 liter Atkinson-cycle 2.0 liter engine combined with a hybrid e:HEV system developed by Honda, so that it is able to emit up to 182 dk of power and the torque reaches 315 Nm.

The engine performance is combined with e-CVT transmission whose power is channeled to the front wheels. The manufacturer with the 'H' logo claims Step WGN has a fuel consumption capability of up to 20.3 km/liter.
