This Is Gran Coupe's BMW Series-2 Refreshment Version, What's Different?

JAKARTA - BMW has officially launched the latest series-2 Gran Coupe with a number of elements that are refreshing, ranging from larger power, sporty design, and rich in advanced features.

Launching from Carscoops, Thursday, October 17, most of these cars maintain the foundation as before. However, in terms of design, this sedan has several interesting things.

Just like the previous version, this car has a compact design and has experienced a slight increase in dimensionality. The length of this car increased 0.7 inches (17.7 mm) to 179.2 inches (4,551 mm). Then, the height also increased by 1 inch (25.4 mm) to 56.9 inches (1,445 mm).

Despite some changes, the wheelbase in this car remains the same as the previous 105.1 inches (2,669 mm) and 70.9 inches (1,800 mm) wide.

The fresh version of the Gran Coupe series-2 now features the M Sport style as standard, including a more aggressive front and rear bumper. For the M235 version, four sporty exhaust pipes are provided.

The side has an 18-inch rim as the standard and 19-inch for optional. Interestingly, the German manufacturer also offers tires of all seasons and high performance that buyers can choose from.

To beautify its appearance, buyers can also choose the M Shadowline Lights option on the back spoiler and Shadowline trim.

This well-known auto brand also features a premium Harman Kardon 12-peaker sound system, Cloud-based navigation, keyless entry, wireless phone charging, and auto-dimming for standardized outer and inner mirrors.

The inside is also now equipped with a new BMW Curved Display, combining a 10.25-inch cluster screen and a 10.7-inch infotainment panel. The system is operated with iDrive 9 with QuickSelect which can be upgraded through over-the-air.

Variants consist of 228 and M235 present with the same engine, namely 2.0 liters of 4-cylinder turbo which has been revised to Miller's combustion system and combustion cycle.

Thus, the machine can provide 241 dk of power and 400 Nm of torque for the entry-level version of 228. The performance is supported by driver of the SDrive front wheel and all-wheel drive xDrive.

The highest version of M235 has the same 312 dk and torque power as 228. This type is designed with an all-wheel drive xDrive.

Supported by transmission of seven dual-clutch accelerations, 228 Gran Coupe can run from 0 to 97 km/h in 5.8 seconds. Meanwhile, M235 is capable of up to 4.7 seconds.

BMW Seri-2 The latest BMW Gran Coupe will be produced at the Leipzig factory, Germany owned by BMW Group and will launch to market starting March 2025.
