Wuling Cloud EV 'MG Windsor' Twins Officially Launched In India, The Price Is Only IDR 183 Million, How Come?

JAKARTA - MG Windsor officially launched in India which is a twin of Wuling Cloud EV in Indonesia, and this one car is priced at 999,000 rupees or around Rp. 183 million.

With this price, of course, it is much different from the one marketed in Indonesia, where the price of Wuling Cloud EV touched Rp398 million. So what makes this one car come at a low price in India?

Quoting from the Indian Autocar page, Wednesday, September 11, it turns out that MG is offering a battery rental system for the model, which means when buying the car does not include batteries. MG said that rental costs for this model could lower initial acquisition costs and costs per kilometer.

This electric car is available in three trims, from Excite, Exclusive, and Essence; and comes in four covers, Starburst Black, Pearl White, Clay Beige, and Turquoise Green.

In specifications, Windsor is powered by a 38 kWh LFP battery with a prismatic cell that is claimed to have a range of 331 km. Motors mounted on front wheels produce 136 hp and 200 Nm torque. Windsor is also equipped with four driving modes Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport.

MG claims Windsor is compatible with fast charging at 45kW, which can charge the battery from 0 to 80 percent in 55 minutes. The car will also be available with AC 3.3kW and 7.7kW chargers capable of charging the battery from 0 to 100 percent in about 14 hours and 6.5 hours.

Interestingly, MG offers life-long guarantees for batteries with unlimited travel distances for the vehicle's first buyer. The company also offers free public charging for the first year.
