JAKARTA - Morris Garage (MG) officially introduced the latest generation of ZS models with all-new appearances and technologies for the British market. Not only that, the car is now also offered with hybrid driving.

Launching from Autocar media, Friday, August 30, MG ZS is offered in two trim options such as SE as the initial variant and Trophy which is the highest.

The SE trim gets a number of standard equipment such as LED lighting both on the front and back, then a 12.3-inch infotainment touch screen, rear parking camera, automatic headlights and keyless entry.

Then, the Trophy variant has several additional equipment in the form of rear privacy glass, 18-inch rims, a faux leather seat with a heat on the front as well as electrical settings, and a 360-degree camera.

Talking about the engine, the latest ZS shares with the MG3 model, namely 1.5 liters of 4-cylinder gasoline with 102 dk and an electric motor with 135 dk, assisted by a gyrboks system that produces a total power of 196 dk.

The electric power in this car is generated from a 1.83 kWh battery which is placed at the bottom of the back seat which is charged using a small generator motor.

The British manufacturer claims that the latest ZS with hybrid technology has an efficient fuel consumption of up to 23.5 km/l and produces 115g/km of CO2 emissions or better than the previous generation's gasoline version with 18.1 km/l and 149g/km.

The second-generation MG ZS will enter the European market as a hybrid SUV at affordable prices starting at 21,995 pounds (Rp446.6 million) at the SE trim and 25,000 pounds (Rp507.6 million) for Trophy.

The car will arrive at the UK market starting next October and become a serious challenger for Nissan Juke and Hyundai Kona.
