Toyota Boss Confirms That GRMN Century Production Will Be On The Floor Outside Japan

Toyota has introduced the latest generation of its super luxury vehicle, Century in the Japanese market. However, this well-known automotive manufacturer also has plans to present the GRMN variant or the highest one.

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Chairman Akio Toyoda said that the model will begin to be produced and not only present in Japan, but also in foreign markets such as China.

"Furthermore, I want to make a GRMN that can be driven by many people from all over the world," Toyoda said as quoted by Carscoops, Saturday, August 24.

For now, Century GRMN is only available one unit which is only owned by Toyoda. This super luxury SUV was also exhibited as part of his car collection at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January.

Although the specifications have not been disclosed, Century GRMN highlighted a redesigned body kit with several elements showing carbon fiber which is known to have light weight. The SUV is also equipped with a set of 22-inch sporty black rims.

Because GRMN is the highest class in the ranks of high-performance Toyota vehicles, the Century is expected to be equipped with a more sporting suspension, improved braking, and more powerful engines.

The standard Century is equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 engine carrying a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) system, so that it can generate 406 dk of power through the e-CVT gyrboks and the E-Four Advanced AWD system developed by Toyota.

The new PHEV system is also designed to serve as a BEV for daily use and as a HEV for long-distance travel.

The standard version of this SUV is assembled in Tahara Plant, Japan and produced only 30 units per month. Century is priced at 25 million yen or equivalent to IDR 2.667 billion. This car is considered suitable for conglomerates and royal families.
