Introducing Denza And Yangwang Vehicles In The Country, BYD Answered Which One Was The Most Interested

TANGERANG - Build Your Dreams or BYD participated in one of the largest automotive events in Indonesia, namely the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) by showing off a variety of innovative vehicles.

However, there is one model that attracts the attention of visitors, namely BYD Yangwang U8. This large-dimensional car debuted in Indonesia for the first time and displayed at the GIIAS 2024 event. Even though it only became a display, how does this model receive from visitors?

President Director of PT BYD Motor Indonesia, Eagle Zhao said that this model was present as well as representing the premium identity of the sub-brand BYD, namely Yangwang.

"ByD also has sub-brands, such as Denza and Yangwang they represent premium brands from BYD," Zhao told the media at ICE BSD, Tangerang, Friday, July 26.

He also said that Yangwang U8 received a good response from visitors who came to the booth. However, he admitted that the Denza D9 model was still what he wanted after being exhibited earlier this year at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) last year.

"The target for consumers is there and different, but when compared to the two models, when talking about Denza D9 demand, people will want it more," Zhao added.

Denza D9 is a car that is included in the luxury Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) category and received good reception earlier this year.

Carrying an E-Platform architecture that is known to be sophisticated and secure, the manufacturer claims the model can cover a distance of 600 km in one charge. In addition, Denza D9 has a 2+2+3 seating configuration in a large cabin.

Meanwhile, Yangwang U8 has a large dimension with a length of 5,319 mm, a width of 2,050 mm, and a height of 1,930 mm. The Wheelbase SUV reaches 3,050 mm. Thus, this car becomes a reasonable competitor for Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

This car carries the Extended Range Electric Vehicle (EREV) system, meaning that it still relies on lithium-ion batteries as the main source of power and drive but is also equipped with an internal combustion engine (ICE) as an additional power that is not connected to the wheel axis.

Yangwang U8 has a 2,000 cc turbo engine and powers the Blade 49.05 kWh battery with LFP chemicals in it. Equipped with Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) technology, which means the battery is integrated into the chassis.

The range is claimed to reach 180 km based on CLTC, and a comprehensive reach with a full battery and a fuel tank of 75 liters is 1,000 km.
