ELF Isuzu Turned Into A Mobile EV Charger Vehicle, Here's What It Looks Like

JAKARTA - There is something different at the booth of PT Isuzu Astra Motor Indonesia (IAMI) at the GIIAS 2024 event, namely the presence of the Isuzu ELF which was changed to a mobile EV Charger.

The Isuzu ELF Mobile EV Charger Concept Astra Otopower is expected to play an important role in the electric vehicle ecosystem and help increase the adoption of electric cars in Indonesia. This is the result of a collaboration between Isuzu and PT Astra Otoparts Tbk (Astra Otoparts), which has a battery-based electric motor vehicle charging network (KBLBB) called Astra Autopower. This innovation is positioned as a Mobile Charging Station.

"This time, we together with Astra Otoparts, which is part of Astra Group and Charoseri Delima Mandiri, present the latest innovation, namely Isuzu ELF Mobile EV Charger Concept Astra Otopower, which is ready to support the mobility of electric vehicles in the country," said Yusak Kristian, President Director of PT IAMI, at GIIAS, Tuesday, July 23.

Isuzu ELF Mobile EV Charger Concept Astra Otopower uses the NLR Isuzu ELF base which is known to be functional and versatile. This truck is 4,700 mm long, 1,835 mm wide, 2,205 mm high, 2,490 mm wheelbase, and can carry loads of up to 3,260 kg.

"The presence of the Isuzu ELF Mobile EV Charger Concept Astra Autopower at GIIAS 2024 is expected to be a solution for the limited SPKLU (General Electric Vehicle Charging Station) which has not been widely distributed, making it easier for electric vehicle owners to charge batteries," he added.

Furthermore, the charger used belongs to Astra Otoparts, with a power of 150KW and is capable of filling various types of electric vehicles with DC currents.

"The Isuzu ELF Mobile EV Charger Concept Astra Otopower will be operated to support the electric vehicle ecosystem in the future, especially when electric vehicle owners face an emergency situation related to their car battery capacity. Operational Isuzu ELF Mobile EV Charger Concept Astra Autopower will later adjust to the number and location of electric vehicles, and become a solution for electric vehicles that require urgent electric power supply," explained Martogi Siahaan, Director of Astra Otoparts.
