JAKARTA - The Smart #3 model will be sold on the Malaysian market on July 10. In a matter of days, this car will join #1 as the latest electric vehicle presented by the brand.

Just like his brother, this crossover will be offered in a number of variants, ranging from Pro as an entry-level type, Premium for the medium, and Brabus which is the highest type and prioritizes performance.

Launching from Paultan, Tuesday, July 2, Smart #3 has a fairly relieved dimension with a length of 4,400 mm, a width of 1,844 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,785 mm.

This car is built with the same Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform as #1, but has a number of different exterior displays. Smart #3 has a lower and sloping roof line so it looks more like an SUV coupe or couple fastback.

For the Pro variant, Smart #3 is equipped with an electric motor with a magnitude of 268 dk and a torque of 343 Nm with a rear wheel (RWD). Thus, the car can run from 0 to 100 km/hour in 5.8 seconds and a top speed of 180 km/hour.

The SUV is powered by a lithium-iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a capacity of 49 kWh capable of providing a range of 325 km in one charge. This matches the AC 7.4 kW charging and DC fast-charging 130 kW.

Moving to Premium, this variant offers the same electric motor as the Pro type. However, the car has a longer range of up to 455 km thanks to the performance of the 66 kWh nickel manganesecobalt (NMC) battery which can charge with an AC 22 kW system so that it can charge 10-80 percent in 3 hours and a DC fast-charging of 150 kW from 10 to 80 percent in 30 minutes.

Unlike the other two variants, the Brabus focuses more on performance. This car is equipped with a 422 dk electric motor and a 543 Nm torque that drives all wheels (AWD) which means it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hour in 3.7 seconds with the highest speed of 180 km/hour.

The Smart #3 Brabus also carries the same battery as Premium, which is 66 kWh NMC. However, the distance is reduced to 415 km according to the WLTP cycle.

For the neighboring country market, this brand opens up a 1.000 ringgit Smart #3 order period (IDR 3.4 million) with the first 333 consumers getting exclusive merchandise from manufacturers.

Not only Malaysia, this brand will also be reintroduced to the Indonesian market through the 2024 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) on July 18-28.
