Genesis Introduces The Latest Electrified G80, Has A Longer Wheelbase And Longer Distance

JAKARTA - Recently, Genesis introduced an upgrade to the Electrified G80 sedan in South Korea, to be precise at the 2024 Busan International Mobility Show.

Launching Carscoops, Saturday, June 29, this luxury sedan is upgraded with longer wheelbase and larger battery packages with longer distances.

Compared to the previous one, the newest Electrified G80 has a wheelbase increasing by 130 mm to 3,139 mm. This change increases the space for legs available for rear passengers, so that the level of comfort approaches G90.

The premium brand from South Korea also made changes to the front bumper's intake with additional chrom accents at the bottom, then a 19-inch alloy rim set, as well as LED lighting using Micro Lens Array (MLA).

Genesis also promised a different comfort in its interior by adopting a 27-inch OLED display combining instrument clusters and infotainment into one unit.

Then, the rear passengers will be spoiled with access to the VIP seat that can be donated, equipped with hand-backing control in the middle, and a large screen attached to the front seat dock.

The brand, which is under the Hyundai Motor Group umbrella, also prioritizes the privacy side for its customers by presenting window curtains so that they are not visible to other road users outside the vehicle.

In addition, Genesis also brought an increase in batteries from 87.2 kWh to 95.4 kW. Thus, this car can run with a range of up to 475 km according to testing in Korea or 48 km further than before.

Although it has not been officially confirmed, the reach of the Electrified G80 is 520 km according to WLTP cycles and 454 km according to EPA calculations.

Genesis has also not disclosed the performance side of this model. However, it can be assumed that the latest Electrified G80 does not experience powertrain. This means that this model still has 365 dk of power and 700 Nm of torque.

The manufacturer will reveal complete specifications and prices approaching its launch in August 2024. This model also has the potential to be presented in the North American market as a model for 2025 or 2026.
