Toyota is considered fond of giving birth to sports cars that are liked by lovers and observers of the automotive world. Not only because of its performance, but also this model can be a forum for modifiers to be creative.

Recently, the automotive brand collaborated with Evasive Motorsports to build a modification of the GR86 car. What is more special is that the model will be transformed into a rally car inspired by Celica GT-Four AWD which once ran at the World Rally Championship in the mid-1990s.

Launching from Carscoops, Saturday, June 29, the GR86 did not experience any significant changes in appearance. However, they gave him the rear wing for optimizing aerodynamics with larger rims and tires from the Continental brand.

Another special thing is that GR86 will be given an iconic 'Castrol' special livery while at the same time reminding the heyday of Toyota in the world of motorsport.

Not only changes from the outside, but the car also changes to the internal part. The modifier will enter the GR Corolla engine into GR86, namely 1.6 liters of turbocharged 3-cylinder which has 300 dk of power combined with all-wheelers (AWD) and manual gyrboks.

Toyota has assigned Evasive Motorsports to integrate the AWD GR Corolla system, thus requiring a thorough overhaul of the engine space and front subframe. The installation brackets are specifically designed to keep most of the Corolla GR gear intact, while hubs and doubles also require special fabrication.

For now, Evasive is working with Eimer Engineering to do most of the fabrication. The team had to validate that the driveline worked well before adding a full roll cage.

The modified Toyota GR86 in the style of the Celica GT-Four AWD will be exhibited at one of the world's well-known modifications, namely the Speciality Equipment Market Association (SEMA) 2024 on November 5-8 to take place in Las Vegas, USA.

In recent times, Toyota has been rumored to be turning the iconic Celica model into its newest line.

The Celica will be powered by the ICE engine with the latest 4-cylinder 2.0 liter turbocharged combined with the GR-Four AWD system developed by Toyota inspired by GR Yaris and GR Corolla.

The report also claims that the development of the latest Celica engine has been completed. Although the information is still limited, the publication speculates that the power this model produces reaches 400 dk.

Most likely the model will retain the low-slung silhouette of the previous generation. Another interesting thing is that rumors say that Celica will debut in early January, to be precise in Tokyo Auto Salon 2025.
