GAC Aion Will Launch Global Version Of GT Hyper, Entering Indonesia?

JAKARTA - The Chinese brand GAC announced that it will launch a global version of its electric sedan Aion Hyper GT, which will take place on June 6.

Quoting from the Carnewschina page, Tuesday, June 4, it was actually the Hyper GT that was introduced in 2023 which was prepared to challenge the Tesla Model 3.

Hyper GT is the first model that can be exchanged batteries from the brand. This one model is priced from 219,985 yuan or IDR 491 million.

Back to the global model, it will be equipped with a 800V platform, advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), and has a cruising range of 710 km.

Interestingly, this one car is equipped with a new technology from GAC called Mapless Intelligent Driving and has been tested on various roads, such as in Milan, Bangkok to Hong Kong.

From the name alone 'Global Model' means the car will most likely also be launched for overseas markets including in China. This move also reinforces GAC's expansion into the international market.

In specifications, the Hyper GT is positioned as a medium-sized sedan with a length of 4,886 mm, a width of 1,885 mm and a height of 1,449 mm with a wheelbase of 2920 mm. The power comes from a rear electric motor that produces 340 cellphones and 434 Nm. The acceleration time of 0 100 km/hour is 4.9 seconds.

But the huge difference VOI is observing, between the models launched in China and the global version is the car door model, where when it launched in China the car had a temporarily scrolling backdoor for its global version of the scissor doors.

Talking about GAC Aion, it has actually entered Indonesia and will bring two models at once, namely Aion Y Plus and GAC Hyper HT. The Chinese brand collaborates with PT Indomobil Energi Baru, holding the right to distribution, sales, and full-sales.

Of course, it is possible that this one global model will also enter the country's market, considering that the electric car market is getting excited.
