JAKARTA - Honda surprised the world's automotive public by presenting the Prelude Concept at the Tokyo Auto Show 2023 which took place in October last year. This car carries a two-door style combining sporty and luxurious styles.
Even though it only displays concepts, the puzzle about the production of this model seems to be answered and is expected to fill the electrification line on the Honda brand.
Reported from Best Car Web which was rewritten by Motor1, Saturday, May 4, the production version will carry hybrid technology. Not only that, estimates regarding prices, powertrains, and dimensions have also leaked to the public for the Japanese market.
In the report, the Prelude Concept will be equipped with a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine e:HeV which is the same as the Accord and Civic hybrid. Thus, this will produce up to 207 dk of power.
The sedan is estimated to have a length of 4,163 mm, a width of 1,790 mm, a height of 1,300 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,575 mm. Thus, the size almost matches the sports model of rivals, such as Toyota GR86.
Positioned as one of the premium sedans, Honda will price this model for 4.2 million yen to 4.5 million yen (equivalent to IDR 438.1 million to IDR 469.4 million) or more expensive than Toyota GR86 worth 2.9 million yen to 3.6 million yen (around IDR 302.5 million to IDR 375.5 million).

It is estimated that the car will arrive in the second half of 2025 and will not appear as a sports car or agile. Apart from Japan, Honda has not yet announced which market will offer this latest Prelude.
Previously, this model had existed for five generations and underwent a series of changes, including an iconic design with a headlights that could be opened and closed in the second and third generations.
In short, the Honda Prelude Concept has again experienced fresher design changes in the next generation, making it suitable for driving in urban areas. However, this model had to be stopped production in October 2001 due to declining sales in the global market.
