GWM Will Add Models In Europe, One Of Them Is A Technology Sharing SUV With Ora 07

JAKARTA - Great Wall Motor (GWM), an automotive manufacturer from China plans to expand its lineup of vehicles in Europe by launching three models of Ora in the future, one of which is an SUV or crossover.

Another interesting thing, the company confirmed that its products will use numerical names, such as Ora 03 as a hatchback and a sedan of Ora 07.

GWM Chief Designer Andrew Dyson said that his party would fill the SUV segment given the European market's demand for high utility vehicles while confirming that the company was working on it.

"Currently the SUV is something that is not yet out of the product lineup and the model will complement other cars," Dyson said as quoted by Autocar, Thursday, April 25.

It is estimated that the car will be targeted for the English and European markets, which carry the philosophy language of Ora's cute design so that it can attract market attention.

The manufacturer also said that the key to GWM in navigating the European market was at the opening of the two newest design houses in Munich, Germany and Turin, Italy, which will go through the concept stage to add European attraction to this Chinese model.

One of the big challenges is how to make SUVs look different from competitors. We believe Ora has that advantage," added Dyson.

Dyson explained that the SUV will take inspiration from Ora 03 with a higher ground clearance level with a similar silhouette in the form of eggs, a rounding headlights, and a minimalist back.

Thus, this new car will use a more flexible Lemon platform, such as Ora 03 and Ora 07. This model will share a battery with 07, namely a 64 kWh lithium-iron phosphate battery or a 83 kWh nickel-mangancobalt battery that offers a range of 569 km.

GWM introduced a sub-brand Ora two years ago through the presence of 03 or so-called Ora Funky Cat on the blue continent market, with a sales book of 9,000 units in the region.
