BMW IX2 Debuts In Southeast Asia At The 2024 BIMS Event

JAKARTA - A few months after making his global debut, BMW iX2 officially took its first floor in Southeast Asia at the 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show (BIMS).

Reporting from Top Gear Philippines, Thursday, March 28, this car takes the same design language as X2. However, the striking difference lies in the grip.

As for the lights, sides, and back, not much different, just added the 'iX2' emblem on the back.

With a large size, BMW still gives a sporty and modern impression on iX2 with sharp headlights, tapered roof lines, and a sturdy 20-inch rim.

Moving to the interior, the car is decorated with futuristic designs combined with several contrasted color accents. The dashboard is decorated with a new large curved screen that functions as an infotainment system and instrument cluster.

The trim patterned on the dashboard added a cheerful impression to the cabin, while the air conditioner's sleek ventilation and ergonomic chairs gave a sporty and elegant impression on the whole display.

BMW iX2 is equipped with a four-wheeled electric motor (AWD) which can produce compressive power of up to 312 dk and peak torque of 494 Nm. This electric car is capable of reaching 100 km/h from a state of silence in 5.6 seconds. The maximum speed of BMW iX2 is limited to 180 km/hour.

For batteries, the BMW iX2 is equipped with a 64.8 kWh battery which has a distance capacity of up to 449 km or further from the iX1 model which only reaches 438 km.

In the charging sector, this latest model has the capability of 11 kW battery AC and matches 130 kW of fast-charging DC which is capable of filling from 10 to 80 percent in 29 minutes.

Unfortunately, the German manufacturer has not disclosed the sales time and price of this model for the ASEAN market. However, what is clear is that BMW iX2 will be available this summer in Europe.
