JAKARTA - The 2024 Bangkok International Motor Show is an event filled with the latest car models and interesting concept cars, including from Isuzu Thailand.

Quoting from the Paultan page, Wednesday, March 27, Isuzu Thailand introduced the D-Max EV Concept, a pickup truck that caught the attention of exhibition visitors. It is planned that this pickup truck production version will be launched for the first time on the European market by 2025, starting from Norway, before later becoming available in the UK, Australia, Thailand, and other markets with production in Thailand.

In terms of design, the D-Max EV Concept pickup features style elements that distinguish it from the diesel engine version. The front grid is closed, while the front facility features more black trims with blue accents on the grip insertion, according to the typical electric car (BEV) style.

Isuzu stated that the D-Max EV Concept uses the same battery and management system as Elf EV, which is then integrated into the pickup truck frame chassis.

In more detail, this truck is equipped with a 66.9 kWh capacity lithium-ion battery pack, with a double motor drive on all four wheels. The front motor produces 40 kW (54 PS) power and 108 Nm torque, while the rear motor produces 90 kW (122 PS) power and 217 Nm torque, providing a combined power of 177 PS and 325 Nm torque, with the highest speed of more than 130 km/hour.

Isuzu noted that the pickup truck's load capacity is one ton, in accordance with the standards of the pickup truck segment. However, specific details regarding the range, charging capacity, and price have not yet been disclosed.

Even so, the opportunity for Isuzu to bring this electric pickup to Indonesia is still open, especially when the electric vehicle infrastructure is growing well.
