BMW's Most Powered Electric Car Tested, Claimed To Have 1,000 Horses

JAKARTA - BMW is focusing on preparing an electrified vehicle portfolio. Reportedly, a high-performance car with the 'M' badge will launch in the near future.

This signal comes when one of the electric cars from this division was caught on camera recently. The model is believed to be based on i4 developed by the M division.

Reporting from CarBuzz, Wednesday, March 13, the car has a similar design to its standard version, but the manufacturer gives it a distinctive M touch as seen in the CSL M4-like grip and white script badge next to the 'M' badge.

Other changes include a new, thick front splitter in every bumper corner, similar to the M4. The ramp adopts the aerodynamic design language of the 3.0 CSL, while the rear wheel uses the Style 437M style of the M4.

In addition, other changes also decorate this car, such as engine hoods, brakes, headlights, and rear spoilers that help stabilize vehicles in the airflow.

Previously, BMW claimed that this high-performance electric car was capable of generating up to 1,000 kW of power (equivalent to 1,341 dk) of four electric motors, making it a strong competitor to the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT which had just been launched with up to 1,092 dk of power.

The four-door sedan will also be equipped with an active differential system, allowing the car to switch to one electric motor when needed for maximum range, and drift with all four wheels.

Unfortunately, there is no certainty regarding the launch date. It is estimated that the M version of the i4 model will be released in conjunction with the fueled version of the M4 in the future.
