Elon Musk Boasts Tesla Roadster Will Become The Fastest Acceleration Car In The World

JAKARTA - For those who follow the story of Tesla's journey, of course know this story. Tesla Motors was formed in 2003, and its first innovation was an all-electric sports car called Roadster.

The vehicle was launched in 2008 and reached a distance of 394 km on a single charge, breaking the record for the furthest distance reached by electric vehicles at the time.

For car acceleration from 0 to 60 mph (0-97k/h) it is less than 4 seconds with the highest speed reaching 201 km/hour. But production was then stopped in 2012 to develop the Tesla Model S.

However, Tesla CEO Elon Musk stated that the Roadster will resume and a second generation will attend. And if you look at Tesla's official website, regarding the latest generation Tesla Roadster, the distance will reach 998 km with one charge. In fact, the acceleration of this car is claimed to be very fast from 0-97 km/hour, it only takes 1.9 seconds with the highest speed also not playing at 402 km/hour.

Elon Musk also said in 2023 that the Roadster will be delivered to customers by 2024. Musk said in a tweet on his personal account that a higher-performance trim level would be available beyond the basic specifications, including the SpaceX package which would "cover 10 small cold air-guide rockets smoothly arranged around the car that should allow a dramatic increase in "acceleration".

However, on Wednesday, February 28, Elon Musk again boasted on his personal X account that if he was trying to accelerate the latest 0-97 km/hour Tesla Roadster, it would be less than 1 second.

If this is true, then the second-generation Tesla Roadster will be the fastest-acceleration production car in the world beating the record held by the ICE car, namely Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 produced in 2023 with a record acceleration of 0-97 km/hour of only 1.66 seconds.

"Tonight, we are radically improving the new Tesla Roadster design. There will never be another car like this, even if you can call it a car," Musk added on the X account.

Unfortunately, he also said that later this year is not a delivery but only the introduction of cars and Tesla Roadster can only be delivered next year.
