Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Enters World Performance Car 2024 Finalist

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N, a high-performance electric car from Hyundai Motor Company, has been included in the top three finalists of the 2024 World Performance Car. This announcement was made by the World Car Awards at the 2024 Geneva International Motor Show (GIMS) exhibition which is currently underway.

The World Car Awards are annual events involving more than 100 international judges who conducted trials and selected eligible vehicles. This achievement is proof of global recognition of Hyundai Ioniq 5 N as one of the best high-performance cars in the world.

"The Hyundai Motor nomination in this year's competition reflects the company's growth on the global stage and continues its success at the previous World Car Awards," wrote Hyundai's official statement, quoted Tuesday, February 27.

Previously, Hyundai had achieved success at the World Car Awards with two models, namely the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6 which won three consecutive times in the World Car of the Year 2022 and 2023, the World Electric Vehicle, and the World Car Design of the Year.

Hyundai Ioniq 5N is designed to provide an extraordinary driving experience. This car uses the E-GMP platform from the Hyundai Motor Group and is equipped with technology from the development of motorsport N. Ioniq 5 N also utilizes N's expertise in electrification of "Rolling Labs" to maximize the high performance capabilities of electric vehicles.

This car is equipped with an electric motor that can produce up to 641 dk of power and a maximum speed of 260 km/h. Ioniq 5 N can shoot from 0 to 100 km/h within 3.4 seconds thanks to booster technology and N Launch Control which increases acceleration.

Regarding batteries, Ioniq 5 N has a capacity of 84 kWh and can be filled from 10% to 80% in just 18 minutes.

The winner of the 2024 World Car Awards final will be announced at an award ceremony at the 2024 New York International Auto Show (NYIAS) on March 27, 2024.
