Vauxhall Releases Corsa Electric Yes Edition At Low Prices, Threatened By BYD Dolphin

JAKARTA - Vauxhall has released its latest Corsa Electric variant, Yes Edition, which is claimed to be the cheapest version of the manufacturer.

Launched to complement the company's latest advertising campaign titled 'Yes, of Corsa', Corsa Electric Yes Edition is deliberately present at a more affordable price, in order to attract consumers looking for environmentally friendly vehicles.

It is known, Corsa Electric is Britain's best-selling supermini car over the past three years. This particular edition will feature an attractive style, from the GS version, with an exclusive Record Red paint, and a contrasting black roof.

Reporting from the release of Stellantis, February 25, Corsa Electric Yes Edition will be present in the UK market at the end of 2023, offering a significant price cut of 5,500 (Rp108 million) cheaper than the previous variant, namely the trim Design.

Corsa Electric Yes Edition will be available exclusively in the UK online starting April 17. One unit of the car costs 26,895 pounds, equivalent to Rp531 million, Yes Edition uses a 50 kWh battery and the same 134 dk electric motor as the previous variant.

This car has a maximum range of 335 km (WLTP), charging from 0 to 80 percent only takes 30 minutes thanks to 100kW charging capabilities. Vauxhall also provides a bonus to buyers in the form of free EV charging for one year at the Tesco charging station which is also available for all Vauxhall electric cars.

Interestingly, although Yes Edition is the cheapest Corsa Electric variant, it does not reduce the quality of its design. This variant adopts many design elements from the sporty version of GS, including black mirrors, alloy rims, and special emblems.

The interior of Corsa Electric Yes Edition also gets a special touch. There is a front seat with a red accent and a 'Yes of Corsa' emblem on the dashboard. Unlike the seven-inch touch screen on the Design variant, the Yes Edition is equipped with a larger screen unit, which is 10 inches with support from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wireless, as well as a 7-inch driver assistance screen.

As for other interesting features from automated wipers, climate control, keyless go, and rear parking sensors. Driver assistance technology consists of out-of-road warnings with assistants guarding lanes, introduction of traffic signatures, speed control, and emergency braking with pedestrian detection.

Launching Autoexpres, February 25, with this new price, Yes Edition will be cheaper than MG4 but cannot fight the price of BYD Dolphin which will soon be offered at only 25.490 pounds or equivalent to Rp503 million with a car battery range of 426 km (WLTP).
