Tesla Recall 8,700 Cars In China Due To Software Problems

JAKARTA - Bad news came from Tesla, which had to recall thousands of its vehicles in China due to software problems.

Quoting from the CNevpost page, Saturday, February 24, Tesla recalled 1,071 Model S and Model X electric vehicles imported with production dates between January 27, 2023 and January 7, 2024, as well as 7,629 Model 3 which were produced locally with production dates between September 12, 2023 and January 12, 2024, based on the official State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) website.

Thousands of Tesla cars above have software problems that can affect the unstable rear camera display. This can affect the driver's view as he retreats, increase the risk of vehicle collisions and pose safety hazards.

Responding to the problem Tesla will upgrade the software for free for recalled vehicles via OTA (over-the-Air) upgrades, and ensure that a backward camera image can be displayed properly.

Later users can also complete software upgrades without visiting the store. For vehicles that cannot be recalled via OTA technology, Tesla will contact users through the service center to upgrade the software.

As is known, Tesla has a plant in Shanghai that produces Model 3 sedans and Model Y crossovers, both for delivery to local customers and as export centers. Meanwhile, for models S and Model X that are not produced locally into fully imported models.
