Kia Carnival Now Comes With Hybrid Variants For Models In 2025

JAKARTA - In the Chicago Auto Show 2024, Kia officially showcased the latest Carnival as a 2025 model.

Steven Center, as Chief Operating Officer & Executive Vice President of Kia America, said the update to this model includes style, performance, and technology, so that it can complement the need for functionality as a family vehicle.

"We have made updates that have an impact on style, performance, and technology, enabling Carnival to challenge stereotypes that family vehicles are not inspiring," the Center said, quoted from the brand's official website, Monday, February 12.

The update on this MPV model will come consisting of five levels trim, namely LX, LXS, EX, SX, and SX Prestige. Meanwhile, Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) versions of Carnival will be available in four variants, namely LXS, EX, SX, and SX Prestige.

Carrying the design philosophy of Opposites United, the latest Carnival appears more daring and modern just like an SUV. The front features a straight front facility decorated with a cube-shaped headlights displayed with a brand-type yellow DRL Star Map light.

While the back looks smoother and premium with the number plate position changed to the bottom of the back door. Meanwhile, the Star Map light contour adds depth to the back. A wide-slip and contoured plate is also presented in contrast to the black coating in the rear fasia.

The car is equipped with a 17 to 19-inch rim, which features a series of geometric angles. An interesting design is also presented from Carnival Dark Edition, which features an exterior element embezzled, includes a rooftop rail, skid plate, Garnish C-Pillar, side door garnish, tailgate garnish, exterior rearview mirror, and a front grip.

The inside is equipped with a dual curved screen with an instrumental cluster and an infotainment display of 12.3 inches each. The head-up display is fully colorful as an optional feature.

The internal light inside the seat belt gesper is on, making it easier to find in the dark. Seven standard USB-C ports located throughout the cabin can help mobile devices stay charged for passengers in all three lines, while two stop contacts, and two 115V inverters serve as additional resources.

In order to make it easier for users, a voice assistance feature is also presented. By simply saying 'Hi Kia', users can set some personalization settings in the cabin, including temperature controllers.

Other features such as Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are also presented as standards, including Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Junction Crossing, Lange-change Oncoming, Lange-change Side, and Evasive Steering Assist.

Talking about performance, Kia Carnival is equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 GDI engine capable of producing 287 dk of power and 352 Nm of torque, which joins the automatic transmission of eight front wheels.

For the hybrid version, a smaller engine with 1.6 liters of turbo-hybrids paired with a 54 kW electric motor is transmitted six accelerations, resulting in a maximum 242 dk power and torque of 367 Nm.

Unfortunately, this South Korean manufacturer has not yet provided a selling price for the latest Carnival. However, Kia estimates that it will sell the MPV starting next summer 2024.
