GWM Ora 07 Confirmed To Launch In Malaysia First Quarter 2024

JAKARTA - It was widely discussed that Great Wall Motor (GWM) would bring Ora 07 to Malaysia, now the manufacturer confirms it will launch in the first quarter of 2024.

Reported by Paultan, Wednesday, January 24, GWM Malaysia has provided some preliminary details about Ora 07 in conjunction with its announcement, such as the variant of the car.

"We are very happy to be able to bring ORA 07 to Malaysia, strengthening our commitment to providing our customers with the best and environmentally friendly transportation options," said Cui Anqi, Managing Director of GWM Malaysia.

In his statement, this EV will come in two configurations, the first featuring one electric motor and a range of 640 km. While the other option comes with two electric motors to drive all wheels and a range of 550 km.

This range figure (standard NEDC) is in accordance with two variants of Ora 07 which are sold in Thailand, both with 83.5 kWh lithium ternary batteries. In Thailand, its ranks start with Long Range which has electric motors installed in front with 204 PS (201 hp or 150 kW) power and 340 Nm torque. Followed by Performance which has a total system output of 408 PS (402 hp or 300 kW) and 680 Nm.

There has been no news about the current price in Malaysia, but Ora 07 in Thailand is sold for between 1,299-1,499 million baht or starting from Rp569 million. When launched, Ora 07 will be the second electric vehicle of the brand to be sold here, with the first being Good Cat.
