JAKARTA - BYD officially introduced three electric car models in Indonesia, including the compact hatchback Dolphin which carries the concept of 'ocean aesthetics' design.

Just four days after the launch of the BYD brand and product in Indonesia, PT BYD Motor Indonesia held a Media Test Drive for BYD Dolphin. This event invites media crews to experience driving performance across the Jakarta-Bogor-Jakarta route with a distance of about 130 km.

Design

Before discussing more deeply, let's get to know this car design first. In general, a sophisticated outline display, with sharp folding lines and flowing contours, creates a confident and elegant design impression. This design line also provides speed acceleration for users. Inspiration of the dolphin's dynamical motion is seen in the design of the headlights and back. The LED front light crosses the middle lattice, while the dynamic rearlight design not only displays unique style impressions and leading technology, but also increases night visibility.

Feelings of Driving

After discussing the design, it's time to enter the driving experience. The journey starts from the official BYD Tebet dealer to Bogor, bringing the Premium Extended variant with a driving range of 490 km. The media is given the freedom to feel the sensation of driving and maximizing the embedded features.

Driving on the Jakarta-Bogor toll road, this car offers extraordinary comfort with a quiet cabin. When it reaches speeds above 100 km/hour, the car remains stable. There are three driving modes: eco, normal, and sport, each giving a different sensation. Sport mode produces instant energy. While in the Sentul Bogor area, the energy is promising, the suspension is comfortable, and the turn radius is good. The car does not bend when driving on the toll road.

Cabinet Comfort

Cabin comfort should be appreciated, users can use navigation, listen to music through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A spacious cabin with panoramic presence provides a fun driving experience. Interestingly, users can play games on embedded infotainment screens. A futuristic center console design creates a modern and dynamic interior.

Battery Consumption

BYD DOLPHIN uses the latest BYD e-Platform 3.0 specifically designed for electric vehicles. The use of e-Platform 3.0 benefits intelligence, efficiency, safety, and aesthetics. The advantage is the use of Blade Battery, which has passed extreme tests and is one of the safest batteries in the world. While using various driving modes at various speeds, the battery is still around 50 percent at the end of the trip.

Please note, BYD DOLPHIN obtained a 5-star safety rating from the European New Car Assessment Program (Euro NCAP). e-Platform 3.0 improves NEV's performance in safety and driving range at low temperatures, as well as improves intelligent, efficient, and secure driving experience.
