Hyundai Ioniq 5N made its debut as a high-performance electric vehicle (EV) in July 2023. However, the latest news says the manufacturer will also launch the model in a ready-to-race version on the circuit.

The version of the Ioniq 5 N race called Ioniq 5 N NPX1 will be exhibited by Hyundai at the Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 which will start on January 12.

Ahead of its launch, the company has signaled via video on the YouTube channel 'Hyundai N'.

Reporting from Motor1, Thursday, January 11, NPX1 utilizes the Ioniq 5 N base with an increase, including an enlarged rear wing size. Its body kit appears more aggressive with wide front and rear splitters.

The carbon component comes on the rear end of the rear mirror, as well as a blue Kaliper brake six pistons on the front and four pistons on the back. The braking system is covered by 18 inches of rims with 280/680 R18 tires.

This crossover is also equipped with a side and back window of polycarbonates, air jacks, roll cages according to FIA standards, and a break button if the battery is too hot.

Hyundai seems to be planning to hold its own competition called the 'eN1 Cup' involving Ioniq 5 N. The car development is expected to be completed next month and is scheduled to launch in early May.

This EV racing car attracts attention with interesting features, where racers are allowed to simulate dental changes using the N E-Shift function which works similar to the dual-clutch eight acceleration transmission system.

It is hoped that the performance of this race car is more aggressive compared to the standard Ioniq 5N, with up to 641 dk of power and 770 Nm of torque coming from dual electric motorcycles and the N Grin Boost system.

Furthermore, Ioniq 5 N can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and reach a maximum speed of up to 260 km/hour.
