Sophisticated, Honda Showcases New Concept Electric Car Series At CES 2024

Honda showcased two concepts of its future electric car that debuted at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which is now taking place in Las Vegas, USA.

The new series of electric cars with the name "Seri 0" comes with two concepts: a van-like vehicle called Space-Hub and another leaner and stylish family car called the Saloon.

However, Honda confirmed that this Saloon is not just a concept car because in the company's release, today, January 10, it is said that Saloon will be a production model in North America in 2026.

The Saloon is placed on a dedicated EV platform. Designed to be spacious, low, and wide, using sustainable materials, while the Saloon interior continues its tradition of ease of use of Honda, equipped with a new Steer-by-wire and "motion control management" system. The chairs are equipped with posture control that uses learning from Honda's experience in robotics, while aerodynamics are claimed to use learning from the company's racing expertise, including Formula 1.

On the other hand, Space-Hub aims more of a kind of moving living room with a "hub" in its name referring to the social center, a gathering place for people. His ethos, according to Honda, are to "optimize everyday life."

In general, the Honda 0 Series was developed with a new approach with a thin and lightweight design, and it is wise to offer five core values of the artistic design that evokes resonances, AD/ADAS which guarantees security and calm of mind, cars that can be space for humans to take advantage of internet of things and connected technology, the excitement of driving with feelings of blending with vehicles, and finally the outstanding performance of electrical efficiency.

As for the battery, Honda says it will use a high-density battery designed to minimize long-term degradation. The company aims to minimize battery capacity degradation to less than 10% after 10 years of use. Then for Honda charging claims fast charging of 10 to 15 minutes faster than the current model's average time.
