Porsche Taycan Latest Record Book In Nurburgring, 18 Seconds Faster Than Tesla Model S Plaid

JAKARTA - Porsche intends to expand its electric vehicle (EV) by preparing the latest Taycan model. The car, which later carries the name Turbo GT, is being developed and has recently made a new record.

The high-performance car has just set a record for the fastest time an EV has ever set at the legendary circuit, Nurburgring Nordschleife, Germany.

Reporting from the company's website, Wednesday, January 3, the car was driven by manufacturer racer Lars Kern, who managed to record a time of 7:07.55 at the circuit which has hundreds of bends. Thus, the Taycan recorded a time of 26 seconds faster than the Turbo S Sport variant in August 2022.

"I'm trying my best to drive it, but this is all that can be done," said Kern.

Kevin Geek, as the head of this line of models, said that the time recorded by the sports car was amazing and put the model parallel to other electric-powered hypercars.

"The impressive thing is that in some rounds, Lars records almost exactly the same time," said Giek.

Thus, this impressive time record is 18 seconds faster than its rival model, such as the Tesla Model S Plaid which recorded a time of 7:25.23.

However, the score recorded in Taycan is still less than the other supercar, Rimac Nevera, which recorded a time of 7:05,298 in Nurburgring or Taycan two seconds later.

This German manufacturer does not want to reveal the specifications of the high-performance EV. However, it is estimated that Taycan Turbo GT will get three electric motors that produce 1,000 dk of power or approach the Tesla Model S Plaid with 1,020 dk.
