BYD Prepares The Launch Of The Compact Electric SUV Yuan UP Competitor For Hyundai Kona Electric

JAKARTA - BYD, an automotive manufacturer from China, is preparing to release a compact electric SUV called Yuan UP. As planned, it will launch in 2024, but information about this model has been leaked to the public.

According to Carnewschina, Wednesday, December 27, based on data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology China (MIIT), Yuan UP will be available in two travel distance options, namely 301 km and 401 km.

As a compact SUV, this car has a length dimension of 4,310 mm, a width of 1,830 mm, a height of 1,675 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. Compared to other models such as Dolphin, the Yuan UP has a longer dimension of about 85 mm, but with a shorter wheelbase of about 80 mm.

BYD provides several other options for Yuan UP, including hanging roof effects, optional panoramic sunscreen, and baggage shelves.

Meanwhile, to provide variety to customers, the Chinese manufacturer offers rim versions of 16 inches and 17 inches.

This car builds on the 3.0 e-Platform platform and is equipped with a magnetized permanent electric motor at the front. This motor generates an output power of 70 kW or 130 kW, with the highest speed reaching 160 km/hour.

In addition, the battery used is a type of lithium-ion developed by BYD, with a choice of 32 kWh and 45.1 kWh capacities. Unfortunately, information about the price of this model has not yet been disclosed. It is estimated that Yuan UP will become a strong competitor for the latest generation of Hyundai Kona Electric.
