Become The Best-selling Car Model In China, Tesla Plans To Update Model Y

JAKARTA - The year 2024 will be a busy period for Tesla. After launching the Facelift Model 3 under the name 'Project Highland', the manufacturer led by Elon Musk plans to bring an update to the Model Y.

Reporting from Bloomberg, Wednesday, December 27, it is estimated that the crossover will be launched around the middle of next year and debut in China. This is in line with the company's vision to compete with several local automotive companies.

However, Tesla looks set to only bring minor updates to the Model Y in China, including the latest rim design and improving the lighting feature.

However, the US company is still working on a larger update to this car which consists of exterior and interior refreshments.

In order to prepare for the latest Model Y, the second phase of Tesla's facility in Shanghai, China, will stop its production for about a week during the 2024 New Year holidays. This is done for adjustments before the production of this vehicle begins.

Unfortunately, the company has not disclosed whether changes to the model will be implemented in the global market other than China. This update is an effort that Tesla must make. What's more, Model Y is one of the products with the most sales of up to 75 percent of the total in China.
