Debut In Last July, Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Wins This Award

Launched last July, Hyundai Ioniq 5N immediately received various positive responses as a high-performance electric car. Thanks to its brilliant debut, the car won the Car of the Year award from the Top Gear Awards 2023.

Paul Hornell, author of Top Gear and jury at this award, assessed that the electric crossover had the same performance as gasoline-fueled cars and engineers managed to take advantage of various systems that make this car more powerful than usual.

On highways and tracks, this car produces what a large EV never thought of, with the distribution of excess power to an astonishing extent. It opens a new page for electric cars and for overall vehicles," Hornell said on Hyundai's official website, Wednesday, November 29.

Continuing what Hornell, Till Wartenberg, as President and Head of N Brand said, said that Ioniq 5N combines elements of technology, performance, and electrification, thus offering adventurers and fun driving on racing tracks.

"Getting the TopGear's Car of the Year 2023 is proof of Hyundai N's enthusiasm for innovation and commitment to our customers," said Wartenberg.

This is the second time that a Hyundai N car has won the award. Previously, another N model, namely i20 N, won the Car of the Year from Top Gear in 2021.

Ioniq 5N is equipped with a dual electric motor that produces 600 dk of power and a torque of 748 Nm. In fact, with the N Grin Boost feature, this figure can increase to 641 dk and torque 770 Nm.

With this power, Ioniq 5 N can reach a speed of 0 to 100 km/h in about 3.5 seconds, with a maximum speed of 260 km/hour.

Hyundai also embeds the latest battery pack with a capacity of 84 kWh, which is the highest among all Hyundai electric cars. With the ultra-fast charging feature, Ioniq 5 N can charge from 10 to 80 percent in 18 minutes.
