Toyota Launches the Latest Land Cruiser 70 Series in Japan, Classic and Tough Aura in One

JAKARTA - Toyota has just launched the facelift of the Land Cruiser 70 Series in the Japanese market while celebrating 40 years of the series. This car has finally been refreshed for the Sakura domestic market after maintaining the previous model for 9 years.

This iconic retro-style SUV maintains a five-door configuration with a tough and charming design. This car has dimensions of 4,890 mm in length, 1,870 mm in width, 1,920 mm in height and a wheelbase of 2,730 mm.

Reporting from the company's official website, Wednesday, November 29, the car has received several improvements in terms of the exterior. Despite its classic theme, the model features modern round LED headlights and large indicators that protrude from the bodywork.

Bumpers and wheel arches retain black material accentuating its adventurous look, along with additional rear-view mirrors mounted on the fenders.

Toyota also provides improvements to the suspension system and several other electronic devices. This aims to increase driving comfort and control stability when in off-road areas. This car is also equipped with various electronic devices that support adventure needs, such as Hill Start Assist Control, Downhill Assist Control, Active Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control.

Moving to the rear, the lights have been integrated into the latest bumper with regular units hidden by body-colored panels. The off-road impression is increasingly visible in the carefully designed exhaust section.

On the inside, this car has various equipment that is standard on this model, such as the latest 4.2-inch analog instrument cluster, with an infotainment touch screen available as an option.

This car also provides a sense of security for its users thanks to the Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) system such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Alert, Road Sign Assist, and Automatic High Beam.

The latest Land Cruiser 70 Series is equipped with a 1GD-FTV 2.8 liter 4-cylinder turbodiesel engine integrated with a six-speed automatic transmission system and 4WD drive system, producing up to 201 hp of power and 500 Nm of torque.

By only providing a single variant, namely AX, the Land Cruiser 70 Series is priced at 4.8 million yen or the equivalent of IDR 505.5 million. The five-seater SUV will be produced at the Yoshiwara Plant, Japan, with the capacity to assemble 400 units per month.
