Honda Brings Home The Latest Generation Of Accord, Marketed In Japan At The End Of 2023

JAKARTA - After releasing the latest Accord in North America at the end of 2022, Honda is now introducing the latest Accord for the Japanese market.

Unlike other markets, Honda announced that this sedan will only be available with hybrid specifications for consumers in Japan.

As Carscoops reported on Thursday, September 21, this Accord has an exterior design similar to the American version, but there are differences in 18-inch alloy rims and slightly different color palettes.

In addition, Honda also offers two packages of visual upgrades as additional options for Accord, namely Sportsline and Touringline. This package adds a variety of bumper extensions, side skirts, decorative side insertions, rear diffusers, and lip spoilers, all of which can be selected in black or according to body color. The package is also equipped with a 19-inch set of wheels with a choice of diamond or black cut.

In the cabin, there is a difference compared to the version sold in America. One of them is a circular dial called "Experience Selection Dial" which replaces conventional temperature controllers. It also makes it easier to operate infotainment systems. By pressing the turn button, drivers can choose to control audio, temperature, lighting, and other functions.

This 11th generation Accord is equipped with a 12.3-inch touch-screen that has an integration of "Google Built-In" with a 10,2-inch digital instrument cluster and 11.5-inch Head-Up Display. The Honda Sensing safety feature is also present for the first time in the Japanese market.

For the Japanese market, this model is powered by a 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that works with technology e: HEV dual electric motors and CVT systems. Although Honda did not mention the power figure, it is estimated that Accord will have about 181 dk of power and a torque of around 315 Nm, in line with Civic e: HEV.

Honda will open a booking period for the model in December 2023, with the first shipment scheduled for spring 2024.

Some time ago, this model was also displayed at the 2023 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). There are estimates that the latest generation of Accord will soon be present at the Indonesian market.

It was reported that Accord, who is a competitor to Toyota Camry, will soon be available in Indonesia. This is indicated by the appearance of Accord with code CY26 at CVT ZZ Hospital in the DKI Jakarta Province Motor Vehicle Selling Value List (NKJB), at a price of around Rp. 956 million.

However, Honda Prospect Motor (HPM) has not provided details regarding the presence of this Accord. However, the opportunity for this car to be sold in Indonesia is still wide open.
