Kia Arrested Wet And Prepared For Facelift Version Carnival

JAKARTA - After successfully launching the EV9 SUV and updating Sorento, Kia does not seem satisfied with refreshing other models.

Reportedly this South Korean manufacturer is testing the facelift version of its flagship MPV, Kia Carnival and is likely to be launched for the 2025 model. This will be the first facelift after Carnival's fourth generation launched in 2020.

According to a report by Carscoops, Tuesday, September 12, the facelift version of Kia Carnival is undergoing trials on South Korean roads. Furthermore, in a video on the YouTube Shorts Car channel, the MPV is seen parked with camouflage.

At a glance from its shape, the Kia Carnival facelift is not too different from the version already on the road. However, it is estimated that this car will bring some changes in terms of vehicle style.

The most striking of this Carnival facelift is the front light that adopts Sorento's latest design, with front LED lights that have a "T" shape on both sides flanking the grip similar to Sorento. This design makes it look like the medium version of EV9.

The main front light is now positioned vertically. The Kia designer has also created a new grip for Carnival that will provide a fresh look at this semi-premium MPV.

Kia maintains Carnival's elegant side look. However, the most striking change lies at the back, where the rear light has been redesigned.

Unfortunately, this car is still in the prototype version, which means not all parts of this model are visible, including interiors that are still covered by dark glass. But it is hoped that there will be changes to the inside as well.

The details of the engine have not been disclosed. However, it is estimated that Carnival will be equipped with a 3.5 liter V6 engine for the US market. If Kia wants to strengthen its electric vehicle lineup, this MPV may use a 1.6 liter hybrid powertrain like the one on the Sorento Hybrid and Sorento PHEV models.

In Indonesia, Kia Carnival is available in two variants, namely Premiere and Dynamic. Kia Carnival in Indonesia uses a Smartstream 2.2 liter DOHC 16 Katup engine with 199 dk of power and 441 Nm of torque, combined with an automatic transmission of eight accelerations.

The price of Kia Carnival in Indonesia ranges from IDR 828 million to IDR 928 million. Each trim has its own superior features.
