Chery Brings New Electric SUV Omoda 5 EV To BCA Expo 2023

JAKARTA - The automotive brand from China is currently gaining significant popularity thanks to the advantages of their products. Manufacturers such as Chery, for example, are able to provide affordable premium class vehicles.

The latest step Chery took to introduce its product is to participate in the BCA Expo 2023 event on September 8'10, 2023 with their newest vehicle, the Chery Omoda 5 EV.

Chery Omoda 5 EV is the first electric SUV offered by Chery in the country's market. This car will be displayed at a special booth for electric vehicles, located at Hall 9-10, ICE BSD, Tangerang.

"We want to give BCA Expo 2023 visitors a special opportunity to get to know Chery OMODA 5 EVs more deeply, while feeling the presence of this futuristic electric car," Shawn Xu, President of PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) and Vice President of Chery International, said in a statement on Tuesday, September 5.

It is known, the Chery Omoda 5 EV was introduced in early August and immediately received a positive response, especially because of its design that describes the future and advanced technology.

For those interested, Chery is still opening a pre-booking period with an order fee of Rp. 10 million. The exact price for the Omoda 5 EV model has not been announced at this time.

Omoda 5 EV is equipped with a 61 kWh capacity battery and has 221 dk of power. This allows this SUV to reach 0-100 km/hour in a time of 7.8 seconds.

The SUV also has a range of up to 450 km with a full battery. The impressive charging system includes fast charging technology that allows charging from 0 to 80 percent in just 25 minutes.

With these numbers, this electric SUV is parallel to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which has a range of between 384 and 481 km.

Not only Omoda 5 EV, but Chery will also bring a model such as Omoda 5 to the BCA Expo 2023 event. Since being present in Indonesia, Omoda 5 has attracted public attention thanks to its designs, features, and the driving experience it offers.

Omoda 5 has a length dimension of 4,400 mm, a width of 1,830 mm, a height of 1,585 mm, and a wheelbase of 2,630 mm.

Chery Omoda 5 is available in two engine options. The first is the 1.600 cc TGDI engine with a power of 194 dk and 290 Nm torque. While the second variant is the 1,500 cc TCI engine with 155 dk of power and 230 Nm of torque.

In Indonesia, Chery presents two Omoda 5 variants, namely Omoda 5 Z with a price of around Rp. 329 million and Omoda 5 RZ which is sold at a price of around Rp. 399 million.

Recently, Omoda 5 also proved its commitment to safety by winning a five-star rating from the Australation New Car Assessment Program (ANCAP) in the Oceania region.
