Lamborghini's First EV Car Concept Will Debut Next Week

JAKARTA - As has been widely reported previously, a number of luxury automotive manufacturers that used to be famous for ICE machines are working seriously on electric-based models. One of them is the luxury brand Lamborghini.

With Revuelto's launch marking their first step in plug-in hybrid cars (PHEVs). After Revuelto, a manufacturer based in Sant'Agata Bolognese, Italy, plans to release several other models that will use electric power, both in the form of hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs).

The plan starts with hybrid management in 2024 or 2025, followed by the 2+2 Grand Tourer (GT) model which will also become Lamborghini's first EV. In fact, they have the ambition to present an electric version of Mangur ahead of 2030.

One of the moments to look forward to is the emergence of Lamborghini GT 2+2 as well as the manufacturer's first EV. The good news is, this wait looks like it will end soon.

Reporting from InsideEVs, Tuesday, August 8, Lamborghini has announced that the concept of their first electric car will be exhibited in the context of next week's Monterey Car Week in the United States. This car will be the first prototype of the four newest units to be presented by Lamborghini.

One thing is certain, this car will be displayed in the form of a concept or preview before the production version is launched in 2028.

With the presence of this concept model, Lamborghini will add to the list of their electric vehicles after Terzo Millenio. Even so, the news circulating indicates that Lamborghini's first electric car will share a platform with brothers brands Porsche and Bentley.

This step is understandable as an effort to cost efficiency in development. A similar approach has been applied by a number of manufacturers such as the Stellantis manufacturer which collaborates in components, as well as between Subaru and Lexus and Toyota.

Although the appearance is only in the form of concepts, automotive lovers still have to be patient until 2028 to see the production version of Lamborghini's first electric car.

In the future, Lamborghini will further strengthen its product line by launching the successor Huracan, the latest variant of Revuelto, and managing hybrids. In preparation for the era of electric vehicles, this manufacturer will also re-develop their production facilities in Sant'Agata, a place to assemble Revuelto and Huracan.

Monterey Car Week will take place in the city of Monterey, California, USA, starting on Wednesday, August 16. Lamborghini's electric car concept will be exhibited throughout the event and can be seen by the public starting Friday, August 18.
