JAKARTA - Morris Garage (MG) has been known as an automotive manufacturer that has long been established. Currently, MG is entering the world of electric vehicles as the next step.

By launching their electric hatchback, MG4 EV, MG aims to expand the reach of their electric vehicles globally. MG4 offers advanced technology and satisfactory performance for customers, meeting their mobility needs.

If customers want more, MG also offers a high-performance variant, namely MG4 EV XPower. This version not only has the same features and technology as the standard model, but also offers stronger power. However, MG's commitment to electric vehicles does not stop there.

In honor of the legendary rally car, Metro 6R4, once produced by MG Motor in the past, MG introduced a modified version of the MG4 XPower named EX4.

As reported on the Autosport page, Wednesday, July 12, EX4's appearance is very different from its basic version. This car has a wider body with an aggressive front splitter and a large rear spoiler to increase aerodynamics and downforce.

Not only that, but MG4 is also equipped with a wider rim with a cap so that overall, the design resembles one of the famous Group B rally cars.

The MG4 EV EX4 will be introduced at the prestigious event, the Goodwood Festival of Speed, which takes place July 13-16, where this car will drive on the Goodwood track.

Although EX4 specifications have not been disclosed in detail, it is certain that this electric car has a larger power than XPower. In comparison, MG4 XPower has 423 dk of power and 600 Nm of torque, making it the largest MG car to date.

With an impressive four-wheel drive system, the MG4 EV XPower is capable of hitting speeds of 0-100 km/hour within 3.8 seconds, supported by the latest launch technology.

The name "EX4" itself was taken from one of MG's last concept cars, the EX-E in 1985. This concept was later realized into mass production under the name "MGF" in 1995.

Meanwhile, MG Metro 6R4, which is an inspiration for EX4, is one of the Group B regulatory rally cars with impressive performance. Following Group B regulation, Metro 6R4 is equipped with 2,991 cc V6 DOHC engines which generate 404 dk of power, supported by a manual transmission of five accelerations.

This car was developed by the Williams Grand Prix Engineering, the famous F1 racing team. Metro 6R4 made its debut at the world rally (WRC) at the end of 1985 with an impressive performance at RAC Rally (British rail) and managed to reach 3rd position through Tony Pond and its co-driver, Rob Arthur.

However, Metro 6R4 experienced several problems during the competition so it was often unable to complete the rally stage before Group B regulation was abolished in late 1986 due to security concerns.
