JAKARTA - German automotive manufacturer Volkswagen has launched an update for its hatchback model, T-Cross, with a number of interesting changes.

According to Volkswagen's official website, on Wednesday, July 5, the changes involved the exterior. The front bumper undergoes changes with dynamic design and lights that have been redesigned on both sides, as well as silver plates added at the bottom.

Front light also gets a new design with the adoption of LED lights as standard. To improve lighting, VW embeds LED light bars in the grip.

On the back, T-Cross has undergone changes to the wider light cluster and X-Shape light pattern on both sides for the Style and R-Line variants.

The rear bumper has also revised with additional silver plates like the ones on the front bumper. If consumers want more features, Volkswagen provides an optional IQ Light system package for T-Cross 2024.

In addition to exterior changes, VW also refreshes the interior. T-Cross 2024 is equipped with revised door trims and digital instruments as standard.

There are various screen sizes offered, ranging from 8 inches for the standard version and Life. Meanwhile, the Style and R-Line variants use a 10-inch screen as part of the Digital Cockpit system.

The 8-inch touch-screen is available for standard T-Cross and Life. Meanwhile, the Style and R-Line variants get larger screens with a size of 9.2 inches. All screens have been updated with the software that controls them.

The T-Cross model equipped with an optional AC Climate system also gets a digital display along with touch and slide controls.

Despite the exterior and interior changes, VW still maintains a 1.0 liter 3-cylinder engine with a power of 92 dk and 112 dk, as well as a 1.5 liter 4-cylinder engine with a power of 145 dk. Both machines use turbochargers and have improved performance.

Customers can choose a six-acceleration manual transmission as a standard or automatic transmission of seven dual-clutch accelerations as an option. There are color options such as the Grape Yellow, Clear Blue Metallic, and King Red Metallic.

Although prices have not been announced, pre-orders for T-Cross, which rivals Toyota Raize, are expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2023, with deliveries to the dealers network scheduled for early 2024.
