Budi Waseso Becomes President Director Of Bulog In Today's Memory, 27 April 2018

JAKARTA Memori hari ini, tujuh tahun yang lalu, 27 April 2018, Menteri BUMN, Rini Soemarno mengangkat Budi Waseso (Buwas) jadi Direktur Utama Perum Bulog. Pengangkatan itu dilakukan karena Buwas diyakini dapat menjaga stabilitas harga pangan.

Previously, Buwas was known to be reliable in working outside the barracks. This narrative is evidenced by his existence when he led the National Narcotics Agency (BNN). He was able to bring BNN to thwart many drug smuggling.

Efforts to eradicate drugs are often taken seriously. The future of the nation's children is at stake. This condition made President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) look for the right person to lead BNN. Jokowi then coached Buwas who incidentally Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police Headquarters as Head of BNN in 2015.

Buwas is considered to be able to bring BNN forward and achieve. This condition is evidenced by a big breakthrough carried out by Buwas. He once brought BNN to thwart the smuggling of one ton of crystal methamphetamine from Taiwan in Anyer, Banten.

The catch made his name soar. The public is also looking forward to Buwas' next breakthrough. However, Buwas has not caused a lot of controversy. He once admitted to making the controversial President of the Philippines, Rodrigo Duterte a role model in efforts to eradicate drugs.

He hopes that Indonesia can be like the Philippines in fighting drug trafficking. Even though it is impossible because it is close to human rights violations. Buwas also had the idea of creating a prison guarded by buwas animals, including crocodiles for drug dealers.

He considered the prison as a solution so that drug dealers thought again if they wanted to damage the nation's children. The idea was not realized. However, Buwas's footsteps at BNN are fragrant. He became one of the leaders who succeeded in bringing BNN until his term of office expired.

Buwas is no longer in BNN. However, his existence outside the barracks continues. Everything was because the Minister of SOEs, Rini Soemarno, appointed Buwas as President Director of Perum Bulog on April 27, 2018. Buwas at that time replaced Djarot Kusamayakti.

Buwas was chosen because he was considered a hard worker. His learning skills and adaptation are good. This condition makes the government believe that wild buyers will bring in efforts to refresh company management. He is also considered capable of bringing Bulog as a food price stabilizer.

"This is a form of refreshment in company management. The government continues to encourage Perum Bulog as a company that carries out its duties from the government to carry out its role to maintain the basic price of purchasing farmers' unhulled rice".
