Rizal Ramli Says Thank You For Being Fired From The Position Of Coordinating Minister For Maritime Affairs In Today's Memory, April 16, 2018

JAKARTA Memories of today, seven years ago, April 16, 2018, Rizal Ramli thanked President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who had fired him from the position of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs. The dismissal did not even make him regret it. Rizal justu said that dismissal was his way of changing Indonesia.

Previously, Rizal's presence as a minister brought a new color. He became the most noisy minister in Jokowi's cabinet. He often throws criticism when there are government ranks who want injustice.

Rizal Ramli is not new to the world of Indonesian politics. His work started when he was still a student. He is known to be active as a noisy activist in the New Order era. He even felt the coldness of prison because of his courage to reveal the government's ulcers.

In particular, Rizal did not forget his education. He continued his dream of becoming an economist and demanded knowledge abroad. He then succeeded in becoming an economist in the 1990s. His work made Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) invite him into the government.

He was once trusted in various high positions. Rizal once served as Head of the Logistics Affairs Agency (Bulog). Rizal has also been the Coordinating Minister for Economics, Finance, and Industry. Rizal is able to work well.

Rizal chose to return to being an activist. He decided to be noisy again when the government of Megawati Soekarnoputri to Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. However, in the Jokowi government, Rizal chose to return to the government.

Jokowi mandated the position of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs to him since 2015. Rizal started his position well. His pro-people policies began to be discussed. However, Rizal began to be considered a noisy minister. He often criticizes ministers or other government officials who harm the people.

He also installed a body when the DKI Jakarta government wanted to reclamation Jakarta Bay. A policy that harms fishermen.

"I'm also confused about why he (Basuki) insisted. Ahok is the Governor of DKI or a developer employee? One minister alone is actually enough to stop. The Minister of Environment, for example. Well, these are three ministers and one coordinating minister. "

"Because it is dangerous, we decided to stop it entirely. That's also because it is categorized as a serious violation. If something dangerous happens, who will be blamed later? The central government too. We don't want that because it's very dangerous," Rizal said as quoted by the Kompas.com page, July 19, 2016.

Rizal's noise echoed everywhere. He likes to represent many people's criticism. Rizal had time to do a reclamation moratorium. However, this work made him have to end in the midst of the Jakarta Bay reclamation conflict. Rizal was finally fired by Jokowi from the position of Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs on July 27, 2016.

Jokowi did not directly reveal the reason for Rizal's dismissal. Rizal himself did not give any response. The public also often relates his dismissal to his actions against the developer of the reclamation of Jakarta Bay.

A few years later, Rizal spoke about his dismissal. However, it was not related to the reasons for his dismissal. Rizal only emphasized that he was grateful to President Jokowi for dismissing him from his ministerial position on April 16, 2018.

Rizal considers his dismissal to be a trigger for new enthusiasm. It is an enthusiasm to prepare to convert Indonesia to a better direction. This means that he has returned to being a critic of the government who is noisy.
