Mat Solar Memory Becomes Victim Of Cinere-Serpong Toll Eviction

JAKARTA - The government fully supports the presence of the Cinere-Serpong Toll Road. The freeway is considered capable of bringing many benefits. However, the construction is not smooth. The government and toll managers are also moving to acquire land owned by residents.

The victims were piled up. Mat Solar, one of them. The main actor in the Bajaj Bajuri sitcom had to give up his land to be evicted for construction. He was promised compensation funds of IDR 3.3 billion. Later, the big funds he promised were never received. The toll road manager was also criticized.

The presence of toll roads provides alternative access to the people of Indonesia. The distance that can initially be long can be cut off in time. This condition will bring benefits to bejibun. Residents' access to a smooth area until economic activity increases.

Take for example the construction of the Cinere-Serpong Toll Road. The toll road was initiated in 2006. The government predicts land acquisition can be completed more quickly in 2008. However, poor cannot be rejected.

The fate of the Cinere-Serpong toll road project is similar to the fate of other infrastructure development that failed to be built. The hope arose when Jokowi served as President of Indonesia. Many projects that used to be suspended animation then rose and finished.

The narrative was also raised in the construction of the Cinere-Serpong Toll Road since 2017. The government has started to actively start land acquisition. Anyone who owns land or house assets within the area that is pegged as a toll road will be affected.

The government did not carry out land acquisition for free. They provide great compensation for those affected by the eviction. The compensation varies. In fact, it reached billions. The total reached IDR 82.82 billion from two Cinere-Serpong and Serpong-Balaraja Toll Road projects.

Problems arise. Not all residents are satisfied with compensation. Instead of bringing benefits, the construction of the Cinere-Serpong Toll Road is considered a lot of harm. Legal steps were taken. Some chose the court path. There are also those who surrender to the government's desire to build for the sake of the common people.

"With the receipt of compensation money, it is hoped that it will have an effect on economic movement. Like the party who has the right to look for a replacement location and will carry out the construction of a replacement house".

"No matter how small the opportunity for economic movement, we will fully support it, so that the acceleration for payment of land acquisition compensation for the public interest will continue to be encouraged. However, remain in the corridor of prudence considering this is related to state financial accountability," said the Head of the South Tangerang City Cantah (Tangsel), Himsar as quoted on the CNBC website, May 22, 2020.

President Jokowi inaugurated the Cinere-Serpong Toll Road on April 1, 2021. The inauguration ceremony was held at the Pamulang Toll Gate. Cinere Serpong Jaya (CSJ) is the toll operator. A toll road that has a length of 10.14 kilometers.

In fact, the matter of building the Cinere-Serpong Toll Road has problems. Member of the DPR faction of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP), Rieke Diah Pitaloka, became the estuary. He criticized CSJ for holding down compensation funds belonging to his fellow former artist, Nasrullah (Mat Solar) on October 5, 2024.

Rieke received the fact that the land area of 1,313 square meters (m2) belonging to Mat Solar in the Pamulang area was affected by land acquisition. The land is estimated to be compensated by the government as much as Rp3.3 billion.

The problem is Mat Solar, whose land has been evicted from 2019, has never received compensation money. Rieke also invited all Indonesians to collect Mat Solar's land compensation money. Moreover, Mat Solar has been known to have suffered from a stroke since 2017.

The matter of compensation money Mat Solar brought a stir. The government was asked to immediately ask operators to pay the money that was Mat Solar's right. CSJ also rejected the assumption that they did not pay. CSJ emphasized that they had paid compensation. However, the money was deposited through the Tangerang District Court.

The option was made because Mat Solar's land was in dispute status. This condition makes the funds can be disbursed if the court's decision comes out between the dispute between Mat Solar and Idris. However, until Mat Solar passed away on March 17, 2025, compensation had not been realized.

Rieke is still demanding that Mat Solar's rights be paid immediately. This is because the land was considered by Rieke as the result of Mat Solar's sweat during his time as an artist. The land is considered by Rieke as an old-age investment owned by Mat Solar who has become a victim of the Cinere-Serpong Toll eviction.

"The land was indeed purchased from someone with the initials Haji I. But then it was considered that the land was in dispute, even though there was AJB, there was a receipt from BPN Tangerang. Jasa Marga, PT Cinere Serpong Jaya for a land area of 1,300 meters with a value of Rp. 3.3 billion was entrusted to the court through PU by Cinere Serpong Jaya."

"And I make sure the land is indeed the result of the shooting of the Jury Bang. And that is the money he is fighting for to have old-age savings. I don't understand, I have been taking care of this for years and I am grateful, hopefully in the month of Ramadan there will be a glimmer of hope for the Jury (name of figure played by Mat Solar in the Bajaj Bajuri Sitkom)," Rieke said as quoted by Kompas.com page, March 18, 2025.
