Vice President Jusuf Kalla Asks Susi Pudjiastuti To Stop Sinking Ships In History Today, January 9, 2018

JAKARTA Memories today, seven years ago, January 9, 2018, Vice President (Vice President), Jusuf Kalla (JK) asked the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), Susi Pudjiastuti, to stop carrying out the ship's sinking policy. JK considers the sinking of the ship to have disrupted diplomatic relations between Indonesia.

Previously, the sinking of illegal fishing vessels was predicted as Susi's bold move. His actions have generated a lot of praise. This achievement made profits in the Indonesian fisheries sector doubled.

The potential loss to the state for the theft of Indonesia's wealth is large. Indonesia can lose up to IDR 300 trillion per year. This condition occurs because it is easy for foreign ships to illegally access Indonesian territory to catch fish.

Illegal fishing activities continue. Even though the government has taken action. However, not all of them have a deterrent effect. Everything changed when Susi Pudjiastuti became Minister of KKP since 2014. Susi tried to answer the challenges that Joko Widodo (Jokowi) administration gave her.

The government wants all marine wealth to be used for the welfare of the Indonesian people. Not foreigners. Susi tries to provide more protection to fishermen and local entrepreneurs. Susi also closed the door to foreign fishing thieves.

They are no longer free. This condition is because Susi has started to do things that create a deterrent effect: sinking of ships. Whoever the foreign ship that wants to sell Indonesia's marine wealth will be caught and its ship destroyed.

The warning was not mere strikes. Susi proved it by destroying every illegal foreign ship that entered. This condition made Susi's name famous. Many supported it, but some threatened it.

Susi doesn't care about criticism either. He continues to carry out ship sinking which he considers to be the right step. As a result, Indonesia's marine wealth can be used optimally for domestic needs. The rest are exported abroad.

'Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti is also nervous with foreign ships robbing Indonesian fish. She even admitted that she was ready to direct her Susi Air plane to bomb the foreign ships one by one.'

"In mid-December 2014, caught fishing vessels were burned and sunk and 'expelled' 1,928 Vietnamese fishermen from Indonesian waters. Maritime resource development still faces many problems and challenges in its development, for example the occurrence of curvature damage to coastal and marine ecosystems in the form of physical damage and pollution in several coastal and marine areas," explained Andi Iqbal Burhanuddin in the book Realizing the World Maritime Axis (2015).

Susi's actions in fact made other countries that benefited from illegal fishing disrupted. Susi's actions are considered to be disturbing Indonesian foreign politics. This condition reached the Vice President's office, JK. JK immediately asked Susi to stop the policy of sinking foreign ships on January 9, 2018.

JK advised Susi that the foreign vessels caught are quite detained and auctioned off. The money will later be put into the state treasury. The option is considered better because it can make relations between countries not disrupted.

However, Susi continued to carry out the sinking of the ship. This step continued until the end of his position as Minister of the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.
