JAKARTA - Candlebox released a new song. A Buffalo Springfield iconic 60s-era protest song titled For What It's Worth.

According to frontman Kevin Martin, this is the first in a series of protest-themed cover songs the band will release in the next few months. The plan, a mini album (EP) will be present in the near future.

The song was recorded individually at each member's house and mixed by Candlebox guitarist Island Styles. Apart from the band members, the song also features special guests Sean "Memphis" Hennesy on acoustic guitar and BJ Kerwin (The Last Year) on drums.

Candlebox launched the For What It's Worth version with an emotional video depicting scenes from the Black Lives Matter action from across the country. There are also live footage from the footage.

This video was produced and edited by Carlos Novais, sound engineer, production manager and tour manager for Candlebox.

"In these times of uncertainty, it is important for us to look after each other," said Martin. "We had fun recording this song and can't wait to do more and release music for our fans."

Candlebox is scheduled to release a new album this spring. But because of COVID-19, they can't help but reschedule to a new date that hasn't been revealed yet.
