JAKARTA - The forced arrest of Dr Richard Lee has gone viral in the mass media since Wednesday, August 11. The arrest process went viral after his wife, Reni Effendi, shared a video showing her husband being arrested by the police.

Through Renni Effendi's Instagram Story upload on the @renieffendi24 account, it is seen that doctor Richard Lee seems to be secured by several police officers. The atmosphere was tense because Doctor Richard fought back.

"Don't be arrested! Later, sir, not first, what reason was my husband arrested for? Why, sir? You didn't explain," said Reni Effendi screaming hysterically while crying, quoted from insta story, @renieffendi24.

The upload was later deleted but the netizens already knew and re-uploaded it from several gossip accounts.

Dr. Richard Lee's attorney, Razman Arif Nasution then explained that the police were forced to pick up his client from his home in Palembang. He admitted that Dr. Richard had become a suspect in the violation of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (ITE) at the Polda Metro Jaya.

Razman explained that it was true that at this time Doctor Richard Lee was having a case at the Polda Metro Jaya and was reported by Kartika Putri. Richard was reported by Kartika Putri with defamation and was charged with the ITE Law due to the content of a review of beauty products.

But the status of the suspect was only known by Razman Arif Nasution after he received an arrest warrant for Dr. Richard Lee. "My client is not a suspect (initially). There has been no notification of the suspect, neither to me nor to my client," said Razman on Instagram @razmannasution quoted Thursday, August 12.

"Suddenly brought to mention this letter, mentioning the suspect's letter. Here it is signed by the Dirkrimsus. Immediately this yellow letter is the suspect, where is the white? Please notice," said Razman while showing the yellow letter.

Razman Arif Nasution also said that this arrest seemed rushed. "Just now (while showing the letter) and here is also an arrest warrant on 11-12 months 8, 2021, as if in a hurry. I don't understand," he protested.

For information, Dr. Richard Lee also reported Kartika Putri to the South Sumatra Police with the ITE Law. Meanwhile, both the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya and Kartika Putri have not responded regarding the forced pick-up of Richard Lee today.
