Komika Marshel Widianto has been officially promoted by the Gerindra Party as a candidate for deputy mayor in the South Tangerang area. This nomination was announced directly by the Daily Chairperson of the Gerindra Party DPP, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad.

Unfortunately, Marshel Widianto's candidacy received a negative response from several fellow artists because of Marshel's background which was deemed inappropriate to serve as a representative of the people.
