JAKARTA - Approaching the end of 2019, many bands have enlivened the Indonesian music scene by releasing new singles. One of them is The Fly, which released a song titled Sebelah Mata through the RANS Music label owned by Raffi Ahmad and Nagita Slavina.

Currently, The Fly is only fronted by two personnel, namely Kin on vocals and guitar and Levi on bass. Although they often experience personnel changes, The Fly continues to consistently perform music. Before releasing Sebelah Mata, Kin and Levi collaborated with Nagita Slavina on a new version of the song Terbang.

Sebelah Mata tells a story about musicians who are often underestimated or underestimated. Usually this happens to musicians who are just starting a career or have not yet received the popularity or wealth of their musical careers.

The Fly hopes that the song Sebelah Mata can represent street musicians who experience stories like this song and continue to struggle to produce works that can be accepted by the wider community.

As a celebration of 25 years of The Fly's existence as well as a thank you to Flymates (as fans of The Fly), Kin and Levi will hold an intimate show at the Albero Music Bar and Lounge, Tebet, South Jakarta on 12 December 2019. This event will be enlivened by Kikan. Namara, Sandi PAS Band, and Raidensoe (Roxx, Bunga).

Looked back a little. Formed in 1994, The Fly was fronted by Kin and Levi, as well as B'Jah (vocals), Adith (keyboards), Iren (guitar), Kus (acoustic guitar), and Irwan (drums). Initially, they often performed songs from the music group U2 on concert stages.

The naming of the name The Fly was also inspired by one of the Irish band's song titles. Kin, in fact, is often seen wearing the same type of glasses as Bono's and also using a vocal intonation similar to that of the charismatic vocalist when singing.

Due to a series of personal cases, B'jah left and was replaced by Firman Siagian in 2007 and Teddy Suryaman (2011). Each of them took part in the album If Loving You Is Wrong, I Don't Want To Be Right and A New Beginning from Another Beginning's End. The Fly has also collaborated with Rio Dewanto in the song Indah Pada W Waktu, four years ago.
