Good News From Pertamina: Pertamax Fuel Consumption Superior Premium During Ramadan And Eid 2021

JAKARTA - Automotive observer Mukiat Sutikno said public awareness, especially motor vehicle owners, to use high-quality fuel oil (BBM) is increasing.

"This trend is certainly encouraging. Moreover, when talking about new (car) engines in America and Europe, they already use Euro 5 and Euro 6. Of course the particles from the fuel are much cleaner," he said in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, May 31.

Based on data from Pertamina's Ramadhan Eid al-Fitr Task Force (RAFI), the average consumption of Pertamax Series and Dex Series is above 11 percent. On the other hand, the use of fuel with the lowest RON (RON 88) is currently only 10 percent.

According to Mukiat, there are a number of advantages to using quality fuel. First, the use of high RON fuel will make the vehicle's engine last longer and not be disturbed quickly. Second, the engine performance is better and saves more on fuel usage.

"Another benefit is keeping the environment clean, especially reducing air pollution," he said.

The use of RON 92 fuel and above will also increase the ability of machines that have small capacities, such as 1,000 cc - 1,500 cc. This machine will produce a large enough power.

Fuel with high RON will be profitable for consumers. "Small engine size can produce large engine power," he said.

On the other hand, the use of low-quality fuel will cause disturbances to the vehicle's engine, even if the engine is new.

"It will interfere with the engine's performance as much as possible. The engine will not last long. So, I recommend using high-quality fuel," he said.

Lastly, Mukiat hopes that Pertamina as the producer of fuel in the country will continue to maintain the availability of high-quality fuel to remote areas of the country.
